We continue to try to fit in little
and big adventures during our free
time. Last month we spent a long
weekend with friends at a
beach-front house on the northern
California coast. Even though I grew
up in central California on the
beach, I didn’t spend much time in
northern California.
The northern California coast (near
the Oregon border) is about a
10-hour drive north of where I grew
up. It is the home of beautiful
forests of redwood trees. One of our
favourite drives is along the Avenue
of the Giants that
runs through the Humboldt Redwoods
State Park.
The beaches in southern and central
California are warm, sandy and
inviting, while the beaches in
northern California are rugged,
rocky, cold and beautiful.
