Hello! Or maybe I should say HOLA.

It's been a busy few weeks for me with two separate trips to Mexico (one to Cancun/Riviera Maya and another to Mazatlan). It was so good to get down there, especially during the media nonsense that was going on.

This is behind us now, and there is no sense in dwelling on the past. Now it is time for us to pick up where we left off and SHOW MEXICO SOME LOVE!!!

By the way, I had a GREAT time in Cancun and Mazatlan. How could I not? The weather was perfect and we were treated like gold; such warm and welcoming hospitality. This really is the perfect opportunity to book your clients to paradise - there are some great deals to be had.

I actually wouldn't have minded staying in Mexico a bit longer but I had to get home and rescue Dixie from my Mom!! Whenever I travel Dixie always stays with my parents and she loves it there. But when I was in Mazatlan I received an email from my Mom with this picture of Dixie attached.

My Mom titled it "Mexican Dixie". I had a good chuckle. I love the hat, especially how it's off to the side - so chic.

My Mom thought that it would be cute for the newsletter...so here you go Mom.

And sorry Dixie.

And speaking of Dixie, she had a run-in with a skunk the other night.

Site Inspection

Without Even Having to get on an Airplane!

Last year I tried something different. When I was down in Cancun/Riviera Maya on my annual site inspections of the Real Resorts properties, I took video footage and then edited it into something I called a "virtual site inspection".

I used the virtual site inspection video for some of my training sessions and presentations and people seemed to love it. Or at least that's what they told me, maybe they were just being nice? :)

The comments I received were that it was a great way to see first-hand what the resorts really look like. It wasn't exactly the same as being there yourself, but it was a close 2nd.

So, when I was in Cancun/Riviera Maya a couple of weeks ago I had my video camera with me again and I documented the site inspections for you. Yes, just for you!

Just keep in mind that I'm not a professional videographer so please be kind. :)

With 15 years experience in the hospitality industry, Wilfried Persevalle joins El Cid Resorts in Mexico having worked for international hotel chains (Concorde, Hilton, Kempinski) in Paris, London, Budapest, and Buenos Aires.

Wilfried speaks English, French, Spanish, and is currently studying an Executive MBA at the UK Open Business School.
