Ann Walker from Sordid Lives |
A
couple of weeks ago I was down in Palm Springs
(mini-vacay) with my best friend Brent, and
you'll never guess who we ran into. Did you ever
see the movie "Sordid Lives"?? It's a quirky
comedy starring Delta Burke,
Beau Bridges and Olivia
Newton John. Anyways, Brent and I were
out for happy hour one night and we met
Ann Walker (aka LaVonda from Sordid
Lives). She's one of my favourite characters in
the movie so it was a real thrill to meet her
and she was super nice too.
That got me thinking about celebrity
sightings. Have you had any run-ins with
celebs? Better yet do you have any pics of
yourself with a celebrity? Send them to me and
I'll put it in the next newsletter!!!
A few years ago I had a close encounter with
Goldie Hawn...she was sitting
directly next to me at Starbucks on South
Granville in Vancouver. She was talking on her
cellphone so I did what anybody else in my
postion would do...I totally eavesdropped!!!
Well, here's what I found out, she was talking
to her daughter Kate Hudson
(she called her Katie) and from what I could
make out Katie was telling Goldie that she was
going to be a grandmother. Cool, eh? I found
out about Kate Hudson's pregnancy at the same
time Goldie Hawn did!! Of course nobody
believed me, but I had the last laugh a few
months later when it was announced on
Entertainment Tonight that she was pregnant. I
hate to say I told you so, but...
I've also met Armistead Maupin
who is one of my favourite authors. He wrote
the Tales of the City Series that was later
made into a mini-series starring Laura
Linney. Below is a link to a video of
when I met him at a book signing in Palm
Springs. One thing I noticed in the video is
how chatty I was. Do I always talk that much?
Good thing I'm in sales!! LOL
And then of course there was the time I met
the Prime Minister of Canada
a few years back when I was up in Whitehorse.
We were staying in the same hotel, because you
know, that's how I roll. If the place is good
enough for the Prime Minster then it's good
enough for me. Oh, and I also met
Bruno Gerussi from the Beachcombers
back when I was a little kid, which I remember
was very exciting at the time.
Anyways, you're a star in my eyes. Have a
great month.

NEW!! Hilton Puerto Vallarta & WestJet Vacations
The new Hilton Puerto Vallarta, is happy to announce that
they will be available to book through Westjet Vacations
for the coming sun season.
This NEW property (opened last October) is Hilton's first
All-Inclusive property in Mexico. It is in the north end
of the Hotel Zone, only 7 minutes from the Airport, and on
one of the best beaches in PVR. Sunwing Vacations and
Signature also sell this new property.
Also, remember the Krystal Vallarta, a
perennial favorite, is right next to the Hilton. It has 4
great pools and guests chose from EP or AI plans. The
Krystal Ixtapa is located in the commercial zone, in
Ixtapa, right next to the golf course.

Real Resorts Helping
Man's Best Friend
On World
Animal Day (April 29th) staff at THE ROYAL Playa del
Carmen and the Gran Porto Real helped out a local dog
shelter in the form of donating food, cleaning supplies
and building materials.
Lynn de Repentigny, General Manager of THE ROYAL Playa
del Carmen said it was part of Real Resort's Green
Program and it was the 2nd year of helping with these
donations, "I think it's very important to help these
poor animals that are out there because of us human
beings not caring for them".
The shelter provides medical care, rehabilitation and
sterilization of all the dogs it rescues. Since 2011 the
Association has saved about 737 dogs and found adoption
for 542 dogs.
