Dear Dave,
One of the best things I learned in business is to know when to say No.  You all know that feeling you get when a new client comes in, and you know, no matter what you do, they won't be happy.  Feel free to say "You may be happier with another travel agent down the road." as it may save you a lot of grief.  Know when to say No!
You know those clients with a 3* budget and 5* expectations?  What properties do you offer them? 
Certainly we, as hoteliers, have to know when your clients aren't the right fit for our properties.
bulletClients wanting to swim in the ocean - maybe Los Cabos isn't the right fit.
bulletClients with a very tight budget - maybe Maui isn't the right fit.
bulletClients wanting a million a la carte eating choices - maybe a smaller property isn't the right fit.
bulletClients wanting to go out clubbing/partying every night - maybe a quiet, isolated property isn't the right fit.
You can count on our team to be honest when trying to match your clients to our appropriate property, even if that means saying "No, that isn't a fit this time."  After all, we are in this for the long haul, and want you to trust our opinions and recommendations.  None of us want the "wrong" clients at our properties.  They won't be happy, you won't be happy and we won't be happy.  For us, it isn't about one booking.  We certainly value your trust and don't want poor social media reviews.  We definitely know when to say No.


Cheryl Green
Well I'm excited to announce that Cheryl Green is the newest addition to the DETM team.  Now we have representation in eastern/central Canada.
With over ten years' experience in the travel industry, Cheryl has worked with companies such as Marlin Travel, Maritime Travel, and The Travel Agent Next Door.  She found her passion in selling vacation packages, cruises, FIT travel, destination weddings, and group travel - helping clients to create lasting vacation memories.
Cheryl then turned her knowledge of the travel industry into the agent support side, where she developed and trained other travel agents.   She found it rewarding to assist new agents in becoming successful in such an exciting industry.    
She is based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA, Ontario), and can be reached at cheryl@daemery.com.
